After 10 years of living in the Chicago suburbs, our family moved back to Dubuque, Iowa, the town in which I grew up. It was a dream come true for me to be close to my extended family. I was so excited for our boys, ages 7 and 10 to spend time with their grandparents and great grandparents.

This is a hamburger with pork barbecue, onion straws, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on it. It was interesting and was good but would have been better if the burger wasn't quite as dry. I ordered it medium-well and there was not any pink visible, it appeared more well done than medium well. The fries that came with the hamburger were nice and crispy and gave me a chance to try their different bbq sauces they have on the table. The swee bbq sauce was very good as was the hot one. The others were average.

This can be made in a regular way, on top of the stove. I like to prepare this in the slow cooker. You can load the cooker with the ingredients and set it on "low" to cook all day. This can be ready in about 30 minutes, though the slow-cooker idea is great if you'd like to have it ready when you arrive home for dinner.
